Zahra Pezeshk
B.A. University of Science & Technology

Born in Tehran, Iran, Zahra is a professional artist and educator. For the last 12 years she has studied under some of the most prestigious art professors in Iran: A. Aghdashlou, N. Moslemian, M. Katouzian and M. Jamshidi.

She has shown her work at solo and group exhibitions and a number of her drawings have been published as book covers. Her work focuses on hyper-realistic portraits utilizing a variety of mediums. She started teaching art privately and in academies in 2009.

Winter/Spring classes:

Beginning Pastel Drawing, Wednesday 2pm-5pm (10 weeks, 1/11-3/15)

Beginning Pastel Drawing, Wednesday 2pm-5pm (10 weeks, 3/22-5/24)

In Beginning Pastel students will spend the first two weeks working monochromatically in charcoal to strengthen their ability to draw value before moving on to the more complex techniques of layering color, blending, hatching, creating transition tones, and controlling and separating values. The class is structured so that each lesson builds on the previous and students will see themselves improve from project to project. Student furnishes own supplies.

Using soft pastels, Intermediate/Advanced Pastel students will work on their own individual pieces with guidance and encouragement from the instructor to achieve their desired goals.
