Introducing Artist and Instructor Zahra Pezeshk

By:
Brentwood Art Center

"I've grown to learn and appreciate that art is a channel to express different attitudes and perspectives towards all aspects of life."

Zahra is a charcoal and pastel artist who recently came to us from Tehran. For the past 12 years she has studied under some of the most prestigious professors in Iran. This coming semester she will be teaching pastel drawing for both beginners and as well as an intermediate/advanced class.

"Contrary to what seems to be the current opinion, pastel is a powerful medium in which numerous painting styles can be applied. In my courses I strive to improve my students' drawing and layering techniques to execute different styles while still maintaining their personal methods and aesthetic."
